About AstroSoc

Now in its 9th year AstroSoc continues to explore the night sky with enthusiasm. Our club aims to introduce new astronomers to the wonders of the universe by creating an environment in which one can learn and pursue knowledge in astronomy. We are a strong club with over 100 members. Our active committee meets regularly to plan and coordinate events for members in order to keep the club fresh and alive. Included in these events are observation sessions and camps, pizza and movie nights as well as astronomy lectures from both club members and guest lecturers including astronomers.

We have a vast range of equipment which you free to use at these events. Currently we have four telescopes, 1x10 inch dobsonian and 3x8 inch Newtonians; we have a wide array of eye pieces and equipment for both analogue and digital photography. So if you have always had a passion for astronomy but never had to equipment to pursue that passion we welcome you to come along and explore the heavens using our scopes.
